Vitamins And Health

Let us see each kind of vitamins closely and examine the results that will help us in relating vitamins and health.

Vitamin A: Vitamin A is present in milk, liver, fruits and vegetables like carrots, sweet potatoes, dark green leafy vegetables like spinach, collards etc. Vitamin A plays an important role in improving eye sight and differentiating between colors. It helps in growing properly and having healthy skin.

Vitamin B: The whole group of Vitamin B including Vitamin B1, B2, B6 and B12 helps in speeding up the metabolic level of the body. These vitamins play a vital part in making red blood cells. The foods in which Vitamin B is present immensely are whole grains, fish and sea food, poultry and meat, eggs, dairy products, beans and peas, etc. They are also helpful in repairing the damaged cells of the body and hence Vitamin B containing foods are called building blocks.

Vitamin C: There is a very important relationship between Vitamin C and health. This type of vitamin helps in keeping the gums and muscles in good shape. This also helps in resisting your body against any infections. Citrus fruits like oranges, strawberries, tomatoes are high in Vitamin C. Along with them, Kiwi fruit, cabbage, sweet and red peppers are also rich in Vitamin C.

Vitamin D: We have already talked about it that it is very important for the growth of bones and string teeth. Fish, liver, milk are food items rich in vitamin D. Sunlight has Vitamin D so people who take sunbath are actually taking in vitamin D.

Vitamin E: Vitamin E is very necessary to protect yourself from lung infections and pollutants in the air. It is present in grains and nuts.


Vitamin K: It helps in clotting the blood whenever you get a cut. Soya bean oil, Broccoli,
Dairy products like milk and yoghurt and leafy green vegetables are rich in Vitamin K.
