Uses of Diazepam Medication

Diazepam is a Benzodiazepines drug commonly used for treating anxiety and nervousness. World Health Organization has included Diazepam as a core medicine in their Essential Drugs List. Diazepam has been prescribed for the last forty years for treating a wide range of health problems. Diazepam is one of the top-selling pharmaceutical in the United States. They are traded in different brand names like Valium, Stesolid, Diazemuls, Bosaurin, Diapam, Seduxen, Antenex, Ducene and Apozepam. Diazepam effects upon the chemicals in the brain that may become throw out of balance and cause anxiety, seizures or muscle spasms. Psychiatrists continue to prescribe diazepam mostly for the short-term relief of anxiety. Benzodiazepines are generally prescribed for short-term treatment.
