Disposable contact lenses eliminated the need of having to have strict maintenance, and also not allowing the lens to be build up with protein or any kind of germs. Another main reason is that lenses are now made with half water content which becomes dry if used for a long period, and when the lens become dry it absorbs all the moisture from the eye itself, that is the reason why each contact lens have their own specific wearing schedule, ranging from either daily disposables, weekly or even monthly disposables. Contact lenses made nowadays are all disposable lenses, meaning that each of the lens has a specific usage time, and you need to dispose off the lens at the mentioned time, if you somehow use it beyond that time, eye infections, irritation is what you’d be facing. The reason why contact lenses became disposable, was because it was quite a hard task to maintain and keep a contact lens dis-infected for a long time, and especially if you had to use it regularly, it created alot of problems.
